Perhaps what the casual viewer doesn't realize, is that this was not a scheduled event. That is why the amplifiers are shut off. The day was over, these two just did this one song, on impulse, in the moment, with no agent, no compensation expected. And, obviously, no Guitar-Tech to tune Eddies $50 dollar K-Mart special, that he holds as a prop. Eddie Vedder is like that loser from Creed, he is just a cute guy with nice hair, and he can sing, sort of. Eddie Vedder in a live performance, plays with his microphone as if it was his dick. He spins it around like Borat. I only saw him once live, and it was only because it was forced upon me. It was a free concert, called "Drop in the Park", and it was at he park on lake Washington where the actual art piece called SoundGarden is located at. I only went because House of Pain was there, and It was one day after the first Seattle Hemp-fest, and they had thrown shopping bags full of nice, fat joints to us, as there was only 700 people at that first Hemp-Fest. So, we scooped up the joints, and handed them out for the House of Pain show, "Hits from the bong, baby"! "Sawed-off shotgun sitting in the trunk". Yeah, everyone knew the words back then. Then Eddie gets out there, no instrument to play, which to a Seattle musician, well, how can a musician not know how to play an instrument? The guy couldn't even read sheet music. If this had been properly set up, it would not sound like two guys in the Subway, with a tin-cup out, looking for some pennies to buy more dope with. I just think it is great, that all those concerts I went to, are now on You-Tube, it seems lie someones Groupie had some camera rolling, no matter who played. Remember, this was all Perry-Farrells' show. Notice the darkness? Jane's Addiction always closed, every Seattle band was just an opening act. This particular event also featured Ministry, and the Mosh-Pit looked like two huge Hurricanes spinning in opposite directions, colliding at center stage. They were pulling out people strapped to back-boards, it looked like war, 1914 style War. It was sold out at 50,000 people, but they saved 10,000 tickets to sell at the gate, to prevent scalping. The end result was a near Riot, with thousand of kids smashing down the fence, and just walking in for free. People were so amped up after Ministry played, all I could think, was if they held a concert like that in every city on the same day, and handed out AK's to everyone, then told them to take over the whole Nation, they could have actually defeated Bush all the way back in 1992. Seriously, that is what killed the music in Seattle, Bush was elected, and then WTO came, and we were nothing but a Riot City, instead of the center of the music Universe. Seriously, the DEA came into town, and shut down all but two all-ages venues. The venues were selling massive amounts of weed. The DEA kept the Off-Ramp open, to try and collect on the taxes they felt were owed. So, suddenly, it was not so fun anymore. Now, the same place that gave us Alice in Chains, and Nirvana, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Kablooey. Now, ICP plays there about six times a year. And ICP can kill anything, even creativity itself. Thanks a lot, Violent Jay. Prick.

where was this n y was no one really around at the begining. i know lolapalooza but the first?? did they just come back on as a late night suprise encore? anyway it makes me miss those early years. i remember the night i heard alive on the radio Ha RADIO LOL. the next day i called Tower Records in Boston n asked if they had the Pearl Jam song. the dude said "toe jam"??! i dont know who ur talking about ! lol. 1 week later the whole first floor was pink with TEN :-) A week later blue and with baby dicks swimming all ova the place ;-)

You could piss through this guys tuneless voice and tuneless song and shitty guitar playing. Give me a rock band with a real singer and some grunt like Foo Fighters or going back Bob Seeger. They look and sound like someone found them under a bridge.
