Did you know that Chris Conner sang with the great Stan Kenton Band? She followed in the footsteps of Anita O'Day and June Christy with his band. He certainly knew how to choose vocalists.

I love Chris Connor, but this cover photo maker her look like she's either in a hollering contest or getting ready to have someone toss popcorn in her mouth. What were the execs at Bethlehem Records thinking?

I saw her live at Ronnie Scott when I was 19. I sat 2 feet from her - wonderful wonderful - ... I took a jazz voice degree because of her voice. ! Love this - .... at 16 years old I listened and listened to her and Anita O'day and Sarah Vaughan - copied them all... I am now 50 - seems a life time ago!

Can't believe someone below commented:"Elegant simplicity. No scat or extended jazzy solo that destroys the song's continuity."Obviously not a jazz fan! Scatting and solo work are the essence of what make jazz the art form it is: Improvisation, or "spontaneous composition" as I like to call it, is what defines jazz. To say it destroys a song's continuity is simply ridiculous. Those elements are what personalize a performance and connect the song and the artist. Yes, it so happens she doesn't scat and there is no instrumental solo on this track, but that makes it a rarity (and to the jazz enthusiast, a bit of a disappointment) in this genre.
