I miss that Bollywood. The one 10, 15, 20 years ago, or even before. It was better than today, less "Hollywoodized", still authentic. The time when lots of movies starred versatile and very talented people such as Rani Mukherjee, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai in main roles, the time when they were kind of "fashionable" actors.While today's Bollywood is so overrated, americanized. Blockbusters everywhere. It is not what it had been one decade ago. :/ I'm fed up with mainstream garbage of our present decade, with bleached and surgered top models, and more and more white female figurants (while the logic would be to have mostly Indian figurants. Bollywood is being more and more racist). Also, the quality of Bollywood songs itself has been deteriorated: with the exception of some directors and composers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali or AR Rahman (and other ones that I don't quote), many soundtracks have become tasteless-mainstream-crappy-electronic pop.Bollywood is imitating today's Hollywood crappy blockbusters full of stupid clichés, it is losing its creativity and its depth.The worst thing is that the few original movies that are produced are not very recognised.I'm not Indian but I really wanted to tell my foreign point of view about Bollywood cinema. To me, Bollywood has lost much of its charm, it not as exotic and attractive as it was, probably because of excessive globalization and all the conformism and cultural uniformisation that's coming behind. I don't think that this will change, so now all I hope is that non-Indian people will get more interested in Indian regional cinema than in the Bollywood of the 2010's, which is mostly (or only) commercial and senseless. Still, I love the old Bollywood and also some recent interesting films.
