The success of this song as a single in 1973 solidified Chicago's movement into MOR commercialism, although it was a catchy tune. It also solidified Cetera's taking over of the lead vocals on virtually all of the songs that the band would subsequently release as singles until he left the band in 1985. He really did have a distinctive singing voice.

I love Chicago's music, but there was just something about their early music that was so great. It was a harder rock/jazz sound that was more expressive of masculine energy. later they turned to balladeers. That's fine but just not the energy of the early Chicago, especially the first two albums. Nonetheless, their music is great and they deserve to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

That unmistakable voice. Peter Cetera should have gone solo a lot sooner.

These are great musicians. Those lyrics are timeless.

Love Walter's solo. If it was a reed instrument, the man could play it.

love the old classics........ even more - I stop by this vid to see Terry Kath play this live version.... Love the sounds of the crybaby wah in his playing... He was sincerely a top notch guy in his playing... Little do most people know about him....Such a shame.... It's the same with Jeff Beck.... Most people don't really know the magnitude of his playing either.... heh.... Buncha tards walkin around yakkin some stupid stuff about Slash on the guitar... & Im thinking .....wow , theyre really missin out... Ask em if they ever listen to Gary Moore rip it up and they look at you all blank & everything.... Geeeeez.....

I love this original stuff they had out. Puts chills down my back when the song first starts. I was a teenager when this was out. At all our parties, Chicago music was always played, back in Houston,Tx in the 70's.

Chicago- Bringing MORE EMOTION into MORE songs via talent, practice and composition than any other band in the greatest era of the greatest bands. And that makes them the greatest band ever in my book, and one of in all books. It's very simple. Because that's what music is all about right- CREATING EMOTION.
