Rick Nielsen was, apparently, a big fan of Huntz "Satch" Hall, a comedic actor from the 1930's who was also one of the original Dead End Kids (later East Side Kids, Bowery Boys). His stage act is an emulation of the way "Satch" used to mug at the camera in all of the classic Bowery Boys movies. As a guitarist, Nielsen has always been top-shelf. Really, really excellent and a great songwriter, too.
