*Welllll . . . WHAT a trip.* Day #1 was a complete success. Day #2 was a slight disaster. I started the trip to Arkansas early because the weather wasn't looking so great; however, I only made it about 70 miles south of STL before I had to stop. The roads were too bad and I had to find a hotel room for the night. They were all booked, but Comfort Inn had a few rooms that were being remodeled, so I got to stay in one of those. OH, after the night I had, it was just incredibly luxurious!Most of the rest of my trip was fantastic. My friend lives in the middle of Hobbs State Park (NW Arkansas), so I explored a bit. I collected a bunch of rocks and had a few creative ideas! :D I wanted to take the canoe out, but it was just a little too cold and overcast. It actually snowed one day . . . But OH! I saw a few other friends, too. We drank whiskey and talked all night. It was so wonderful! I also visited my old school and talked to some people about reapplying this fall. So, that's actually going to happen! I have pretty mixed feelings about it, but you know. I'll have my degree in December! WOO! And I can do an internship for course credit when I'm down there. My advisor said she may even be able to find something for me that is related to sex education (which is the field I am interested in!). AND my thesis is going to be AWESOME.Oh, lord. But yesterday. And the day before. Oh, lord. Nightmare of nightmares. Really, it could have been a million times worse. The weather was beautiful, so I am *so* thankful for that! *Long story, short:* Axle on the passenger's side broke on Saturday. Finally found a place to repair it. Picked it up yesterday and got about fifteen minutes into my trip back home before my car overheated. I discovered that the radiator cap was missing and . . . well, okay, I called the mechanic and had them bring me a new one, *plus* antifreeze because mine was all over the place. Ohhhhh. It was so stressful! But my car is great now! I actually had the other axle replaced today because it wasn't so great either. But I got that work done fo FREE! WEEEEEEEEE! So grateful for EVERYTHING! OMG.Some highlights . . . I saw a few *super* cool license plates. My favorite was [HR HI NS], but [DSELMOM] was a close second. Oh, but one of my *favorite* parts of my trip was playing with a little boy named Sage. We were battling dragons and basilisks in the closet and he whispered to me, "I have my sword. I think I can get him. I love you." And I was just like, AH. WHAT. I asked, "You love me?" And he said, "Yes!" Such a sweetheart. Of course, I told him that I love him, too. :) Anyway. Trip is over! So. Back to school. Back to work. Back to everything! Can't wait until the semester is over! :'D I tried to upload a bunch of pictures, but my wireless connection reset and I hadn't finished organizing them all, so . . . Maybe tomorrow. Oh, and I heard this song (below) while driving...somewhere and I just really liked it.
