He's got wonky teeth, a bad hat and is rarely politically correct - and that's why we love him - A legend in the Australian entertainment industry - a national treasure.

This is one of Chad's early recordings and it typifies his tongue in cheek look at Aussies and life in general.

This track is available on CD - the source is in the video.

Pyrofella, you are correct. Geoff Mack wrote I've Been Everywhere in 1959 and Lucky Starr released it in 1962. The song was rewritten by Hank Snow and sung by a few US singers including Johnny Cash in 1965

im desperate to find out when this was recorded, but like most austrailian, irish & canadian, the artists & publishers bend over backwards to prevent us from getting recording dates, I never buy any music I cant get a recording date for, no matter how much I like it, no way to put it in my music collection without a date

I love this one. It has deep, personal meaning. I met Chad twice, donkey's years ago and I'm glad to hear he's still getting around entertaining. I do hope he finds his way west again...

G'Day... I remember him... funny bugger.. sadly he's passed on, but apparently you can still buy his CD's online - just type exetel/lizardgrip into the google search and you should see Don's CD page on the listing... hope this helps... Cheers

I have a feeling it may have been Geoff "Tangletongue" Mack... the fella who wrote "I've been Everywhere"... I could be wrong, but I do recall the song. I'll have a dig and if it's hiding away somewhere in my collection...Cheers

Anyone have the song "The Wog"? Comedy Aussie ballad about a guy who caught the flu, which went through the whole family. Not sure who sang it - have an old 45 which I must find, and see who it was - its a great laugh.

We are Magpies, Chad is Australian music right down to it's guts. Australian bush and country is vast and unknown. Chad has been there, seen it, done it: and is still there. Gut's and/or Glory. Like today there isn't any clear understanding is there I love . Our children need to know one thing. LOVE. ( scares you if you are doing the wrong thing)

Good on ya Chad and to the person who put this one up. I bought this on a 45 when it first came out. The flip side was I'm my own Granpa. Great work. Met Chad in Logan a couple years back and I treated his sister for sore feet. Nice bloke
