@xXBluegrassCountryXx Robert Wallace claimed to be William's descendant and that it gave him great pride to write the book about his great great something grandfather , yes there are no official records , but bastards were a common things in that time and most of the time , those bastards knew who their parents were and told their own offsprings

@PerceptionOverload if you're referring to Robert Wallace then just because somebody has the same last name does not mean they are related and if you are referring to James A. Mackay then I have read nothing that suggests he is a descendant of W. Wallace. Yes, it is possible that he may have had children but there is no hard evidence or any record that suggests that he did therefore nobody can prove that they are his descendants and therefore nobody can claim it either.
