This is a good Cat Power album don't get wrong, but when I come to Cat Power I come for the Rawness of her and her guitar. I've seen this metamorphoses coming with her last album Juke Box, but at least that album had Metal Heart and Silver Stallion. The Sun album is just so refined and Indie pop compared to all her last albums. Well times change all, I always loved Cat Power for the Rawness of her musical identity, now with this album it's become all so refined.

She looks and sounds awesome. I never liked her all that well before this album but I love this song very much, and I have HUGE respect for her for not going the Botox and plastic surgery route. She is perfectly human and to look at her face in it's humanness soothes and comforts me. Also, I love the Red Tailed Hawk call in the song, and the fact that it's accurate. Red Tailed Hawk was on of many sacred birds for the Cherokee.

I wish that people wouldn't look at everything with a jaded perspective. I wonder if anyone criticizing the video or her looks can look at the big picture in any situation. Is Chan trying to make a phenomenal groundbreaking video with cutting edge cinematography? No. She's never been one to perfectly package anything. It's about the music and the message. Also, she's getting older and people usually look different when they're older. It's not a negative thing. It's what happens to every human. She embraces who she is and doesn't hide anything. I think we're so used to criticizing every little movement or word a celebrity chooses that we can't focus on the message. She's human too. Should she just quit singing because people don't approve of her new look? Should she not explore her creativity and make videos? Let's not toss her out because she looks different. We're kind of miracles of biology and evolution. We're not pretty little packages and trophies. Stop shutting people and situations down because they don't meet some standard you've set up.
