Never mind haka haka. Interpretation is to take a song and make it your own, not try to be Levon Helm - who I dearly loved - or anyone else. Cassandra is a master of making a song her own such as Miles Davis's Blue in Green, she added lyrics, arranged it, and it became Sky and Sea - a hauntingly beautiful take on the best song from the great Kind of Blue. I never tire of Cassandra Wilson and listen with anticipation to each new version of a standard.
