Today, we are celebrating both the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday AND the Inauguration of Pres. Barrack Obama. This may be the *most* fitting post I can make for #musicmonday . INTRODUCING "CAROLINA CHOCOLATE DROPS"!!It is easy to get the Blue Grass is a *race specific* genre of music, especially if like me, you go to the "Philadelphia Folk Festival" every year! At this point in our history you *may be correct* in saying that but it WASN'T ALWAYS THAT WAY. Carolina Chocolate Drops take there name from an actual band name from long ago. Being music ethnopologists, they remind people that what we call Blue Grass today was simply the "String Band" music of the 1800s USA, both Euro & Afro Americans played this music.
