@poptartjen I kind of agree with both of you. Listening to this, I can tell the words and the chord progressions (the actual songwriting) are pretty great. What's kinda lame is the instrumentation. It's not Mike's strong suite. It's plain and rather generic. It's why the beatles were so successful, besides coming along at the perfect time, they had both good songwriting and interesting instrumentation.

Mike is an absolute musical genious and one of the nicest musicians I have ever met. Why he is not more popular is an absolute mystery. Hang On Mike is an absolute classic album.
