@emile235 Spot on. By now I hope most people in the industrial scene have seen that interesting bit of footage circa 1985 of Reznor boping side to side with the sleaves of his tweed blazer rolled up with his band The Exotic Birds. The whole notion that he's some genius who created something new and great is quite the joke. He owes his career CV. Particularly the 1985-87 period. In other words, Pretty Hate Machine Was Done in 1987. By the Cabs. And it was called Code.

@ABCRE2 true but whilst the Cabs did this Reznor at the time WAS in a synth based boy band sell out outfit with his bouncey Lady Di hair and neat little buttoned down white shirt and smiles for the camera. He later decided to get all surly with suicide chique and leather jackets . Good move commercially wouldn't you say? NIN are not for real and neither is Brian Warner. Just typical Anerican shallow remarketing homogenisation of industrial authernticity into celebrity culture. WANNABES

@emile235 Totally. And in a major way this material really paved the way for the likes of Nine Inch Nails & others to go mainstream. Almost as though they were prepping people who weren't exposed to this style for the hard stuff.

i can see how hard core CABS fans saw this as "disco sell-out" at the time this was definitley veering towards top 50 material and of course it happened later with I WANT YOU
