Well, people know who he is. No one knows who you are. Is he a wannabe? Don't think so. He is an "is". That gives him cred. Your 15 years in a band (1) gives you no 'cred', and (2) shows you want to be a successful musician. So, by pure definition, you are the 'wannabe'. A wannabe is someone who literally, 'wants to be' something. The fact you have been unsuccessful in your endeavor actually makes you the "wannabe".

He's such a goofball onstage. I love it! I have yet to see him live, and probably won't ever get to, but I watch the live videos on here all the time and laugh until my sides hurt. :)

I respect your opinion, it's your right to have it, can't please every1. But to answer you, he was also Rolling Stone's 2005 producer of the year. He has an incredibly humble and low key solo carreer which he writes incredible lyrics and melodies but his full time job is producing for some of the largest names in music at the moment. So yes, he does make a living at it, a really good one in fact. But you cant get a full respect for him til you see a live show! Unbelievable to say the least!

Its funny to see you go back and forth posting irrelevant arguments and calling him a "duchebag". You don't know how he acted when he was the Marvelous 3's singer. He really hasn't changed his image in nearly 20 years hell he started in a metal band in LA it changes with who he is. I like his music because its amazing just like with most of his fans. All art is subjective. We are all judging his work. His image and stage-name are part of his work. With my 15 years experience, I find his work typical of the LA musician/hipster. He makes trite music. For people who "want" to be hip or into the "scene" whatever the scene is. Plus this video looks like he and a friend went to a garbage dump with a handheld and "made art". It's crappy. That's all I am saying. Low production value. And I am catching flak for it. But that's how I judge his art.
