Listen to the song "I can't play the blues" by bumblefoot. Lyrics are written for you. You know why you like this song and only this one ? Because ther are some parts which have more or less the same form than a 12 mesures blues. And as a blues fan (i think), you like that. For exemple, BB King, trying to be "emotionful" or to play with "feeling" (which is absurd, oppositly to what everybody think it's way more simple than shredding) had the most boring play in the universe.

@greenarcher180 Next time you're saying something that stupid, at least fake a stroke. In terms of melodies, dynamics, rhythms, non diatonics, harmonic function and overall theory manipulation, he's eons ahead of almost all contemporary players. One of the only true virtuosos who can actually write a catchy tune. Your whole characterisation of this man and his work is one huge testimony to ignorance. It's so obvious your reasoning towards some sort of halfassed biased point, it's not even funny.

Among the few true virtuosos of today, Ron probably is one of the most genius composers and producers. I could go on and on with this mans achievements, I think you are highly underrating this man.

@Guitareben Absurd. Most of his work is unmelodious noise and shred. There are numerous players with better grasp of musical theory and melody. Thinking otherwise shows a limited exposure to better guitarists.
