Competant but not better than the original. The jerkoff on here that said that Dickenson makes Gillans version sound amaturish should have his ears cleanedand reprogrammed. Dickinson is a fine vocalist in his own right, but cannot tieGillans shoes. Ian Gillan is Hard Rock and Metal royalty. I think that Dickinson andDream Theatre both over played the song. The tempo is sped up to where the soulof the song is lost. The Purple version is moody and ominous and builds up to epichighs. Gillan dosen't want to over sing every lyric with operatic vibrato. Dickenson will be the first to tell you that Gillan is his vocal idol. I am a die hard fan of ThrashMetal and ordinarily i like things fast but Perfect Strangers was perfect on the Purple version.Get a clue.

In my opinion Bruce Dickinson hasn´t got a clue what he is singing about. He wails away, as he so often does. Irton Maiden material suits him just fine, but he is so mannered.
