The chorus is a little harder to explain. The high E and B strings are open throughout, the chords are open chords with the thumb covering the root. i.e, first chord is in the from of an F# major (remember the G is dropped to F#, so you hear it as F#minor). Hold it as the kind of bar chord where your thumb is the bottom note, not the kind where your first finger plays flat across the neck, now lift your first finger so the 2 high stings, E and B, are open. The rest are variations on that.
