She borrowed the lyrics from the words of one of the greatest Christian theologians of our time - how is that bad thinking? If there's anyone who could explain Christianity in a way the "common" man could understand, it was C.S. Lewis. Honestly, as much as I was brought up in a very Christian household, there were things I never really understood until I read what Lewis had written. What good is just talking about Christ if you don't understand what you're really saying?

That's a fairly uncharitable reading of the lyrics. Brooke (and Lewis) could just as well be referring to how, having been enlightened by God's special revelation, other things in life make more sense. Like desires and feelings.
