Its so stupid how fans in the rock/metal community is the most judgemental fanbase ever. Just becase it is another genre than you usually like, doesnt mean its bad. There is so many genres now anyway nobody can really keep up with them, just like there are tons of bands. All bands have different sounds, and that is what makes them good, and its why we listen to them.Reading the comments i just had to get that out there, but really, all of you guys hating on sempiternal and drown; of course you are entitled to hate the music, we all have our own opinions. But what you got to understand is that musicians usually use their music as a way to vent, a way to convey a message, an emotion or a state of mind. This is universal for all music, regardless of genre.Look at Olivers life, he used to be a drug addict, suffered from depression etc. I believe the music he made was a way to vent. All those negative emotions, depression, anxiety, anger etc, that touches us and is the reason why most of us listen to their songs in the first place, is expressed in a really good way through their music. In earlier albums he wrote songs that made sense to write for him, at that point in life, which leads to the hardcore sound. But now, Oliver doesnt want to write that type of music anymore, he does not feel like screaming in the same manner. Of course, Its only natural as his life has become a lot better.As a musician you pour your heart into the music to make it feel real, so the message you convey actually reach out to people in the way you want to. This ability, together with actual skills is what seperates good music from bad music, imo. Just imagine making a true felt song about being happy when you feel like shit. Imagine finding the right sound and the right words to make a good song. Its nearly impossible.So before all of you prejudicing fuckers hate on their music, or any music for that matter, use your brain, think, before you spread all the mindless hate. Stop being so ignorant, and learn to appreciate music, plebs.
