I discovered Bright Eyes from an asshole ex boyfriend. Only great thing that came out of the relationship. This was when I was 14 years old, I'm now 22, and love him just as much, if not more than I did when I first started listening. When I date a guy, one of the first things I do is make him listen to Road to Joy. If he doesn't like it, he's not for me. Call me picky, but if i'm going to love a guy, he's gotta love Bright Eyes, or at least get it and not call it emo bullshit. Conor is a gift.

Bright Eyes reminds me of Elliottg Smith. Mostly due to his unusual vocals and the honest tone. Also the fact that I've never heard a distinctly happy song from either one of them. I appreciate the honesty and talent shown through both of them.
