I certainly miss Brad Delp, and I dont think the bse player was a girl back in the day. They do sound good though, just miss that strong voice of Brad, they just dont shine as bright

Brad, Barry & Sib's contribution to the Boston sound and Boston songs has been overshadowed by Sholtz do it all myself attitude. Tom you are a genious and an excellent organist and song writer, but Barry is a better guitarist, Brad is the voice of Boston and a good song writer himself, and Sib's drumming added to the tracks as well. Tom is not a true basist, and when he plays drums and plays bass, the rhythym section suffers. Tom wrote incredible music and is a genious, but he needs others

Continued Than Tom. While I understand Tom's passion for recording on 2" analog tape, he should have sought the services of top rung producers and engineers and focused upon songwriting and playing. In addition, Tom is NOT a drummer, and the songs he plays drums on suffer as a result. Futhermore, the vocals on the first album were recorded by Boylan at a top rung studio, and he and Delp laid down some superb vocal tracks! Tom took over the band, and he is a control freak.

Continued: Sholtz also designed analog effects that were a head of their time-example the whammy bar pedal. However, Sholtz started using walkmans on the second record, and the guitar sounds went down hill in my opinion. The guitar sounds on the first album were amazing and they set a standard for the next 10 yrs. Tom used Ampeg & Marshall tube amps with celestions & power soak and precise micing which made all the difference difference. Also, Barry G has always been a better guitarist.
