This movie wasn't a hit, it did break even and got so-so reviews from critics. The same was true for its soundtrack. But I saw this movie in college and it touched me for reasons deeply personal to me. And that the accompanying soundtrack was filled with successful women musicians was also a reason I hung on to the CD for all these years. Finally, Whoopi Goldberg's version of "Anything You Want" - originally sung by Roy Orbison and remade for the movie by Bonnie Raitt - was the perfect song to end the movie. Her version still moves me after all these years.
