(cont) mic is going to pick-up highs a bit more than lows. This is a concert so the audio isn't mixed or mastered, but the quality of the recording is very good. A lead singer's vocals can be framed in diff ways, I prefer wood-grain, some people prefer paint.

I disagree, I think Angel's vocals are a great addition, the job of the supporting/back-up singer is to frame the lead singer's vocals in a way that compliments them- the back-up singer, if you call it that, should not always be extremely quiet. The song is timed in a way that the vocalists aren't singing over each other, most of Angel's vocals take place during a point where Will is holding a note, and even when they aren't, both singers are easy to distinguish. My point is this: IMHO this should have been performed with her as a BACKING vocalist, whose LOUD voice was SOFTENED so as to compliment, rather than compete with, his delicate and ethereal vocal in this performance. It's ridiculous for her to be standing CENTER STAGE here, as it's WILLIAM who is clearly singing lead with her vocals coming in at strategic points in the song. The great folk singer Pierce Pettis performs with his daughter Grace as his backing singer, and Grace as both a (cont.)

That could well be. Still in all I DON'T think that Angel Olsen has made "a wonderful contribution to William Oldham's music" as her LOUD voice doesn't suit his delicate and ethereal vocals in a way that compliments them. Rather, it sounds like her voice is COMPETING with his, and IMHO neither her voice nor her songwriter is 1/1000 as great as his. Therefore I'd prefer that she make a greater effort to SOFTEN her vocals and STAND BACK away from his center stage. HE is the star here, not her.

The female singer here is at times TOO LOUD. She needs to tone it down, as Will's voice is so delicate that her LOUD voice is literally competing with his and I DON'T want to hear HER sing, I want to hear WILL sing. She should approach it as if she is providing soft accompaniment to his voice, not singing a duet with him. I do agree that he is even BETTER live than he is in his studio recordings..and his studio recordings are always wonderful.

@mottoth Merci pour la réponse, je l'ai vu dimanche à Nantes. Je pense que çà a duré 1:30 mais bon c'était le dernier set de la soirée qui en comptait 3. Mais c'était vraiment grand ! Ce type dégage autant de force que ses chansons et le groupe qui l'entoure faire le reste.....
