It is no secret that there is great appreciation for Bon Jovi in the editor's corner of the world, and when my friend Alan Lindstrom featured a song on his radio show that I had not heard before, the pounce to grab it was quick. "Whole Lot Of Leavin' Going On" was released in 2008, and like many great songs over the years, has its roots in tragedy and personal hardship. In this instance, the great front man paid homage to his lead guitarist, Richie Sambora, who was dealing with a bereavement, messy divorce and addiction struggles at the time. Strangely, the song was as a single only released in Europe, and it charted in Germany and Austria. A song of this quality really deserves a far wider audience than that.
