Yes, indeed; the weekend is almost here. I'm cranking up Thursday with some Maxwell House Dark Roast Coffee and the AM1070 5:20 oldie. Walden Robert Cassotto started as a songwriter for Connie Francis, and recorded his own first million-seller Splish Splash in 1958. This was followed by Dream Lover, Mack the Knife, and Beyond the Sea, which brought him world fame. In 1962, Darin began to write and sing country music, with hit songs including "Things." It was the final Darin single released on the Atco Records unit of Atlantic Records before he began recording for Capitol Records. In that same year, he won a Golden Globe for his first film 'Come September,' co-starring his first wife, Sandra Dee. Of course, you know him as Bobby Darin. "Things" reached #3 in the US, #2 in the UK, and #3 in the Irish charts. Have a good Thursday.
