"Everybody must get stoned." Does Bob Dylan mean this literally or merely allegorically?

*I think Dylan is trying to warn against drugs*"They'll stone you when they set you in your grave" so before you say rebob dylan's "Everybody must stoned" well bob everybody did get stoned& whether or not they wanna get straight again they cant because they're addicted" you might try reading between the linesRainy Day Women LyricsWell, they'll stone you when you're trying to be so goodThey'll stone you just like they said they wouldThey'll stone you when you're tryna go homeThen they'll stone you when you're there all aloneBut I would not feel so all aloneEverybody must get stonedWell, they'll stone you when you're walkin' along the streetsThey'll stone you when you're tryna keep your seatThey'll stone you when you're walkin' on the floorThey'll stone you when you're walkin' to the doorBut I would not feel so all aloneEverybody must get stonedThey'll stone you when you're at the breakfast tableThey'll stone you when you are young and ableThey'll stone you when you're tryna make a buckThey'll stone you and then they'll say, "Good luck"Tell ya what, I would not feel so all aloneEverybody must get stonedWell, they'll stone you and say that it's the endThen they'll stone you and then they'll come back againThey'll stone you when you're riding in your carThey'll stone you when you're playing your guitarYes but I would not feel so all aloneEverybody must get stoned, alrightWell, they'll stone you when you walk all aloneThey'll stone you when you are walkin' homeThey'll stone you and then say they all are braveThey'll stone you when you're set down in your graveBut I would not feel so all aloneEverybody must get stonedSONGWRITERSBOB DYLAN
