Don't ever compare this phase of Blur to any of Oasis. This (along with the whole Parklife album) was one of Blur's ironic and somewhat piss-taking songs about British culture, made to be a fun song to sing to, with the lyrics reflecting exactly that. You can't compare these lyrics to Oasis! if you're to compare any of the lyrics, use something like Tender or No Distance Left To Run (or any of the Blur or 13 album) as those songs are more meaningful and lyrically absolutely beautiful. You cannot compare a song like Girls and Boys with say Supersonic or Live Forever, they're entirely different aspects of Britpop with entirely different messages.
