@red99791 What's Balfe's permission worth? Absolutely nothing. He wrote no Teardrops songs. Of course bands rip off other bands - the Teardrops did themselves - but sometimes they do it too blatantly and this is a case in point. George Harrison's My Sweet Lord is another - but I imagine you think "it's not similar at all" to She's So Fine. I don't actually give a shit, which incidentally is what all those other bands you list are, apart from Radiohead. And just for the sake of it: you idiot.

@caerphillykid They're not really "newfangled". Elastica were around at the same time as Blur, in fact their singer went out with Damon Allbran for ages... and Wire were (and still are) a legendary punk band that Elastica settled out of court with for stealing their riffs.

@jomper I've just searched that track, and you're totally right... I hate to admit it, 'cause Blur are one of my favourite bands, they can do no wrong in my eyes. But it is clearly a rip-off. :-/
