Perfect Water With Blue Oyster Cult

I don't know if its so much being underrated or under appreciated. In their heyday, they were doing 250+ live shows a year in the 70's and early 80's, selling out coliseums across the country and overseas. So they certainly had (and have) their fan base. In Boc's case, they were a very strong live act that didn't always translate to huge record sales.

For the folks before me. I don't see how selling 24 million records & being on tour for 30 yrs is "UNDER APPRECIATED" ?? :) Don't recall thinking that at any their shows either:) Great stuff thank You. Rick

What an incredible song you can play it over and over. Probably the most underrated band in History.

Did listen to the CD "A Long Day's Night" by Blue Öyster Cult today and the version of "Perfect Water" was, to me, one of the strongest songs on that whole live-album. I do think that "Club Ninja" might be BÖC's weakest album as a unit but it's still pretty good! I'll always enjoy it!

It makes me wonder why on earth aren't they inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Shame.

I disagree, easily their best album of the 80s...Perfect Water, Dancin in the Ruins, Madness to the Method are excellent and finding 3 gems on any one BOC album is pretty damn good! Now, I will grant you, their best work was in the 70s...no arguing that...but for mid 80s, this is terrific shit!

I agree that this song is a true gem, but 'Ninja' was not even close to the best BOC album, even though I'd be hard pressed to name any one album as their best.I think that they were going through some major personnel issues at the time. However, I especially like the treatment of this song on their latest live release (can't recall the name right now...a long day's night or something) Anyway, they are a great band, and if you get a chance to see em live, by all means, go! Long live BOC!

I've found over time that a lot of bands have a few good albums in them, and then for whatever reason, they go downhill. Any band that can produce more than 4 or 5 good records is really commendable to me. Some can't even do that.

Club Ninja was much maligned, but remains one of my favorites. Good songwriting by Buck Dharma and Jim Carroll on this number.

A little to 'manufactured' for my liking. I'll remain an early BOC enthusiast.
