Did you like any of the stuff that Scott Travis has played in Racer X, before he joined Judas Priest? Racer X was another kick ass band like Hawk and Judas Priest!

Scott is one of metal's finest drummers. With the INCREDIBLE advances, technically, in (extreme) metal drumming over these past two decades, his name often gets forgotten, but he's beyond solid and a formidable technician in his own right. Love the guy.

Hey Doug, i totaly dig your videos (even though i'm a drummer) .Back around 1986 i was in a band Lucky 13 . (You might remember Vendetta better) . Scott and i were hangin' out in his studio (fransisco studios in vernon when he was in Racer X) enjoying his new sponsered Tama kit. When he asked me to drum for you (trying to coax me sayin' "paid rehearsals"! Lol!) I guess he thought i'd be a perfect fit as our styles were nearly identical at the time (heavy Aldridge influanced) (we rehearsed next door to each other so he knew how i played).I kept passing up the gig because I loved my bros in lucky 13 too much as we had that "chemistry".Funny thing is.... The guy who ended getting the gig (johnny) was the guy who was MY replacement when i left Vendetta for Lucky 13! Lol!!Anyway, its kind of been one of my great regrets these past 28 years (not takin' your gig).And listening to your songs now... I can imagine how much fun it would have been to jam them! Heres another funny little connection. The guitar player for vendetta (Darryl) learned how to play from YOUR metal method tapes! They must have been great lessons because he wrote some kick ass tunes! Oh... P.s. I think I'll take that gig now! Lol!!By the way, Scott was a really kick ass person back in those days. He was so badass that he could have been a jerk..... But he was'nt, he was always very hospitable to me back in the studios.

@MrLeon4646 They were stunned and... there wasn't a microphone on the crowd. It was definitely noisier than it appears. All of the crowd noise comes through the vocal mics.

Scott Travis pre Racer X obviously, shredder himself, double bass master has slowed down with age and time understandable so have we all. This guy made his mark in the hard rock/metal drumming scene no doubt. Wonder what his plans are after Priest.......keep rocking Scott!

Scott is one of my all time fave drummers and hella under rated but you can hear the heavy Tommy Aldridge influence in this solo. Then again, what american drummer hasn't been influences by T.A.?

Scott has been a perfect fit in Judas Priest. He isn't talked about nearly enough for his talent.

Scott has been my main inspiration on drums for years now, I think his double bass playing is as good as it gets. He may not be a constant 16th note at 220 player or whatever but I believe Scott was the first drummer to use these types of double bass patterns. I'd give anything to meet the guy. This is a great video and great music, good stuff man.
