Insane... Very well recorded. Even more amazing is how they mic'ed the drum set with no tom mics, but instead they put the overheads closer to capture the cymbals and toms... Great song too. Plus the drummer was very musical in his playing.

Does anyone know what those overhead mics are above the drum set?

Some drummers just know how to make the music sound great. Brian is one of them.Never over plays, never too loud, great feel and time, he builds suspense by his use of dynamics.

WestSideOfJazzConsider the Alarm rang. Unbridled energy and unrestrained passion abide here. As an extra benefit you closeups of the incredible drum work of Brian Blade.

it's a woman with a dildo. Brian's playing on this is really good. He is not a dildo. I think he has the hots for the chick in this band, otherwise he would not waste his time with it.

This song is a perfect example of Brian Blade's versatility

That is an very catchy little song. Kind of an 'Edge' / '80's Brit Rock guitar sound over a very jazzy rhythm section. Those cool Ludwig drums are vintage from the 60's. You can tell from the keystone shape logos. (drum nerd)
