This is a Lennon/McCartney tune that the Beatles never recorded. It was given to one of Brian Epstein's other groups under management... Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas.

Despite the screaming, etc., you really his voice well here, without all the recording tricks. I'd venture he was a better singer than John Lennon. What a talent, good stage presence too. THANKS for posting this.

1:00 always wondered where 'Duncan Norville got his 'chase me' routine idea from in the 1980/90's :-) (seen these moves on 'Lee Evans' as well!!)

Who was the Nimrod who thought it would be a good idea to mic the audience? It's annoying.

You can't compare other Brit bands with The Beatles. It isn't fair to them. Judge them on what they were not what The Beatles evolved into. I think Peter Noone once said something like, "They were changing music and we were just trying to have a few hits." Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas were a good Brit Invasion band. Nothing more and nothing less.

The Lennon-McCartney team gave as many songs to Billy as they did to Peter and Gordon. They were writing so many and tossing the scraps to their colleagues.

I did not say it was bad at all, but according to the standards of the Beatle's, yes. Perhaps the melody does not fit perfectly with the excessive speed of the song. It 's just my opinion, nothing important. There has been around worse, not to mention today's music (not all, yet).

I got in a taxi the other day, on the way to meet my mates to get on the coach to go to T in the Park, and the bass player here, is now a taxi driver! We had a crazy conversation about him leaving school to tour with Billy J. Kramer and the Dekotas, he's a great guy, thought it was worth sharing!
