I dont have one of those sad stories "my father beat us constantly " no my father loved us all very much but he dealt with PTSD for the gulf war and channeled his pain into his drinking and that was what killed him. He drank himself to liver failure

My dad was an alcoholic for years and he did many horrible things during that time. It took him a long while to finally sober up. He has been for around a year now, but he pretends like he was always so picture perfect, like he didn't hurt my mom, my brothers, myself...and that's why I still have a difficult time with him. He refuses to acknowledge what he did and simply tell me he's sorry, that he regrets being a drunk. If he could just look me in the eye and say those few words, I'd forgive him and finally be able to mend whatever is left of our relationship.

My dad was my dad he worked everyday an even when he was so tired he still had time to hold my hand when I was scared. When I was starting kind garden he was so proud he would take our pitchers every year an when I was going to my last year of high school he had a tear in his eyes saying how proud he was of me. I was a victim of an alcoholic father and mother my whole childhood. He would come home and beat me and my mother. My mother didn't leave him until I was brave enough to tell my teachers what was going on! Then the cops came and took him away and sent me and my mom and my three little sisters to a shelter! Then he came back into our lives again and my mother chose him over me and my 6 month old daughter! She kicked me and my 6 month old daughter out on the street!! She didn't care about what he did to us! My 3 little sisters didn't get beat because I protected them!! I had to be a mother and a father to them from the time I am 6 until I was 15 when I had my own child! They go around now like nothing ever happened. They don't even want to talk about it! And now I am an Recovering alcoholic and addicted!

after my (alcoholic) father recently telling me that he'd rather spend the rest of his life in jail than to have to deal with me anymore I really am sorry. I don't feel bad for myself. ive been through enough at only 14 years old. I feel bad for him. he will never know what a great daddy he could have been, dad even though I know you said you don't love me, I know that's not true and I love you.

Wow I would never be that brave at 7. Its great that u stood up for urself and ur mom! My birth parents were drunks and they beat me and my sister and brother all the time. Until one night the cops came to our house and found us in the basement so they took us in to foster care and that's when my parents now adopted us three. And were finally away from that abouse. So I am here to say we can get through this together. U r all in my prayers:-)

When did YouTube become just a place to show ads, I hate it more when some so called fans do it to their singers, upload their work and add advertisements while they had nothing to do with making the song, don't care how little people get paid its still lazy and not right.
