I am a Smashing Pumpkins fan, but Billy Corgan doesn't seem to get reality about his music, the reason people want to hear those 6 or 8 songs all the time, is because those songs were the best songs that he wrote, you listen to SP albums after Adore, and there isn't one song worth listening to, it's not the style or the sound, it's the song writing, if Billy wrote songs as good as Today and Disarm, and World is a Vampire, and Adore, Smashing Pumpkins would of stayed on top, OCEANIA comes close

i think he meant less relying on digital and technology to make the sounds...its not necessarily using producing less techno sounds but like the expression of the music that comes across as feeling should be more unique and of one kind...and impossible is using the existing technologies to produce such.

It can be done. Amanda Palmer has proven you can totally keep a fan base happy and acquire new fans by cultivating cult like status. She even did the crowd sourcing kick starter thing to great success.

I like the first 7 songs on Oceania. The next 5 aren't so good, but Cut #13 is okay. Overall, the good songs overshadow the mediocre ones. No Siamese Dream or Melancholy, but he's still quite good.

Looove Billy and his smashing pumpkins. But you know why doesn't he try some different genre of music in this day and age or maybe have some kind of fusion. I know he is creative enough to come up with something. Point is he should come up something that is really emotionally powerful.
