The Complete Billie Holiday on Columbia CD 1

Lyrics:

A cigarette that bares a lipstick's traces

An airline ticket to romantic places

Still my heart has wings

These foolish things remind me of you.

A tinkling piano in the next apartment

Those stumblin'words

That told you what my heart meant

A fair ground painted swings

These foolish things remind me of you.

You came, you saw, you conquered me

When you did that to me

I knew somehow this had to be

The winds of march that made my heart a dancer

A telephone that rings but who's to answer

Oh, how the ghost of you clings

These foolish things remind me of you

I have to say I am a huge fan. Every song I hear I can instantly pick out her voice.Love her music. When I heard this on 'Corrina, Corrina' I knew it was her!Aww the times when men were men and women were women. Haha I sound so old fashioned...but my old soul speaks for itself ;)

Yes,conveniently available maybe... but isn't it different to go at ''Hang your hat at Mr. Kelly's'' or ''painting the town'' at another famous jazz club where you can notice Charlie Parker drunk as usual and Dizzie trying to take him home, Billie performing at the stage and in the audience Jack Kerouac writing his poetry and novels and Thelonious chatting to Pannonica about his last performance. I'm not saying I was born in the wrong era. I am just saying that it may be magical to see all that.
