Video Premiere: Bill & Will -- 'I'll Be Pushin' On'

On first hearing the name Bill & Will, it's hard not to imagine a quick-firing cowboy duo, gallivanting around the prairies with reckless abandon. Listening to the London production twosome's latest single, 'I'll Be Pushin' On', may not quite be the guns blazing gold rush that the pair's moniker may suggest. Instead, it's a 21st century frontier-blazer that 'I'll Be Pushin' On"s liquid bass lines and rolling beats evoke; the kind that prefers skateboarding to riding horseback, who chooses New Balance over spurred boots.

The track's accompanying video appears to follow this ethos, charting the trials and tribulations of what it means to be young in the nation's capital. Where 'Pushin' On', if viewed through the lens of that strenuous cowboy analogy, could be interpreted as a search for adventure, here it feels more of a necessity; a pursuit of survival in an age where being young feels just as scary as it does brilliant, where juvenile hopelessness feels second to none. Eventually, the clip's protagonist finds salvation in friends and alcohol, as many of us often do; sure, it's not necessarily a long-term solution but it's enough of an excuse to get through a long day, to keep 'Pushin' On'.
