In September of 2004, one of the most destructive hurricanes ever to hit the USA, hit the panhandle of FL, specifically Pensacola. Hurricane Ivan spawned several large tornadoes and caused sever widespread flooding. Part of the I-10 bridge collapsed killing a truck driver. It was devastating! My husband and I lived across the bay in Milton and decided to stay and ride it out. I have never been more afraid in my life. We camped out in our walk in closet with our two young daughters sleeping on one mattress. I never went to sleep that night and at the height of the storm when the windows were rattling and the roof seemed like it would rip off at any moment this song came into my mind and I spent the next few hours praying and singing this song. Ten years later I still weep when I hear this song and remember that horrible night. I weep because Jesus did calm my spirit and held me through the storm, reminding me that he always is my Prince of Peace and He is always with me. Thanks to BDW for remaking this beautiful song!
