Here's some footage from the Final Fling tour. If you can get past the dudes in skirts, it was a great concert. I have some images that I feel are relevant to what the song means to me.

this band was amazing from the 80s until stuarts passing, the music changed all through it. check out his previous band the skids

I remember seeing Big Country in '93 in NYC and they opened with this song. Great great show! It would've been even cooler had they worn the kilts!

I take back that comment about the kilts. It was done tongue-in-cheek. I have genuine respect for Scottish culture. Big Country is my favorite band and their Scottish influences are a big part of that.

Geefor

Most underrated group ever! This clip doesn't do justice to their sound - get the CD The Buffalo Skinners to listen to the song properly or the DVD (doesn't have the very prophetic war clip as here though.) The late Stuart was a 'master' of prophetic words - listen to his words CLOSELY! Chester's Farm is true to every word (also on The Buff. Skinners CD). Why don't they re-release Blue on a Green Planet - so appropriate today

Ahem, less of the 'skirts' terminology dude. they are wearing KILTS ! It's traditional highland Scotland dress code....and with a claymore (which is a heavy broadsword) you don't mess around .... but don't worry, if you don't know yer history you can always learn...after all, I'd hate to think where America would be without any input from the Scots.....This was filmed at Glasgow Barrowland, Scotland (on a friday night supported by the Alarm)...I was at this and it was very good indeed! cheers!
