Legend though she is, I think the reason why Betty Wright isnt a megastar is that, like the great Phyllis Hyman, she simply cannot be categorized. How can you pigeonhole a hurricane? And I wont be surprised if Al Green doesnt shudder when she does him- her take on him is just tooooo close to home.
