I did some searching and can't find the lyrics as sung here. Original lyrics by Tom Waits don't have that phrase at all so Bette or someone re-wrote them. What is your source? I've listened to the song so many times and I don't see or hear the word "old" at that point. :-(

it makes me laugh, in the 80s when uk got an editional tv channel..channel 4 , they started showing really out there stuff late at night ...the divine miss m ..had a red triangle .forewarning of sex and swearing etc ..so funny ...i was14 then.. had to record it on thesly ..love ye bette

I used to have that VHS of Divine Madness but I let someone borrow it and they moved away with my video. Sure would be great if you uploaded the whole show for all of us fans. It would be wonderful to be able to see it again. I loved "Shiver Me Timbers". The performance of "I Shall Be Released" from this movie was the BEST! :-)

I have the concert on vhs including "shiver me timbres" and "rainbow sleeve". It was shown on the german channel ZDF. It's a shame these songs are not on the dvd.

seems like any time a song is cut, it is a Waits song.......let's not forget "Martha"...which was also performed for this production.

@Westwoodorama Both songs were included in the movie theater release of Divine Madness in 1980. I was unaware that they were not on the DVD. What a shame, beautiful songs and my favorites from the movie.
