This style of percussion-guitar always sounds so mathematical and patterny to me. As some others have said, the harmony is pretty basic, and where's the groove? I guess it doesn't matter when you lose the beat when you're playing by yourself. Non-musicians seem to always freak out over this kind of stuff, but music is about way more than the number of notes you can play.
