From Scythe to Sceptre from the Melodic Death Metal band Be'lakor. It's taken off of their 2009 album, Stone's Reach

Lyrics: I knew you some years before

Deep in prayer under bough

Futile sighs in vital skin

Your flesh caressed by night

Yet change came quickly

A bruise in the air, it staggered within

Sweet sickly rot

Black wound infection

King, slave, child

Your fates are united

An unending row to the grave

A single dance now, all eyes are shut

Blind to the earthly

Begging now to forget who I am

Emperor, your sword is useless

Shattered crowns so swiftly

Fragile as the scythe

Aching bones cling to swollen limbs

Despair floods all senses

The world is dying around me

Gaping in mirth, his old eyes spoke

Where you are now - I once was

And what I am now - you soon will be

Nothingness awaits you

Begging now to regain what I've lost

The tale of life is but a picture

A flash in an abyss, a dream in the void

See that there is no meaning,

Understand eternal death

You long now to try what you once feared

But the time is gone and dust will be your legacy

Hard to believe they can produce extremely good metal like this somewhere in australia. Sounds so finnish..and vocals are fantastically awesome

5:41 that riff though, can't find any other band to make that kind of sound. Love it

It's important for people to understand that the big labels like Universal, BMG the other bigs guys who run the MPAA are totally different from the small labels that are making bands like this possible. Be'Lakor is an incredible band, on a tiny label - and to forgo buying an album to buy tickets or merch is shortsighted. Truth is, Be'Lakor is barely breaking even on their tours, and unless they make money on album sales there won't be any shows for you to go see. I bought this album within ten minutes of hearing it for the first time, and that's rare for me - but because I want this band to succeed, and waiting for them to get big enough the make it to Canada to buy merch is no help at all.

The point is, buying it still supports the band in other ways. Yes, most of the money does not go directly to them. However, it shows the label that the band is liked, and they will in turn invest more resources into the band, allowing them to grow.

Labels aren't making a living, they're making a steal.

I totally agree. I mean, why support a label that allows bands like this to make music? That's a crazy idea. Surely they don't need to make a living either right?
