Selah sings this most beautiful Irish traditional hymn, which seems so appropriate with Saint Patrick's Day approaching. It can be found on their "Greatest Hymns" album and purchased from iTunes. Here's a link to the story of this hymn: http://www.gospelpiano.com/articles/hymn-stories-18-be-thou-my-vision.htm

When the powerfully loving voice of the lady chimes in, this song ascends to heavenly heights.

Thanks for composing & posting this lovely video. Others have tried to capitalize on the glorious beauty & eternal message in this song for their less-worthy purposes, but you have provided a worthy video with which to enjoy a very special tune with words which transcend our present situations & help us appreciate eternal truth and glory. May God bless you & those about whom you care.

I have been ruminating upon the song "Be Thou My Vision" for a few weeks now. OK, a few months. Why so much thought over a song? Because it's an awesome reminder that God is our all in all. And whenever we turn away and cast our vision upon something less than God, problems develop. Just as Peter looked away from Jesus on the water and started to sink, so do we when we pay untoward attention to our circumstances. This is an old Irish song that reminds me of the prayers from the Valley of Vision or the Resolutions of Jonathan Edwards. You can take this as a pretty song just as you can take the prayers as prayers and the resolutions as resolutions. But as you read through them and let them percolate within you, you will come to realize the common thread that they all share. They are all deeply worshipful. They are some of the finest examples of worship in their respective genres that I can think of in the last 500 years. They are all God centered. They all take your focus and point it like a laser directly to God and away from yourself. They all remind the reader that they may be a fallen human, but that it is to the praise of God's glorious grace that we are stood upright and are able to follow our savior. They point to the things we are enabled to do by the grace of God. Not to the things we do of our own volition to appease God. There lies a key difference between Christianity and every other belief structure ever followed. In the coming days, I plan to unpack this song a little. Can I encourage you to listen to it? Here is my favorite version of the song. So far. -+Doug McHone

1 Corinthians 15: 28When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.

I keep wondering where the pictures are from. They're beautiful! And they go well with the song. I love the mix of Irish pictures, praise with lifted hands, knights, etc. The type of dress a lot of the women wear in these pictures are lovely and just how amazing it all is. Just them looking up. Thanks so much. :)
