sorry...tone quality isn't good, but this is an ultra rare demo.

Written by Barry and Maurice Gibb 1968. Original single sold in UK and Japan Polydor, July 1969.

The Tigers' "Smile for Me" was recorded in London with Barry's uncredited help and he is shown with the Tigers on the picture sleeve.

Barry also makes a cameo appearance in the movie they were filming, "Hi London!".

The Tigers were : Kenji Sawada, Minoru Hitomi, Taro Morimoto, Shuzo Kishibe and Shiro Kishibe.

It was sung by Kenji Sawada, whose nickname in the group was Julie.

The song "Smile for Me" dates from 1968, but it was rewritten for the Tigers in 1969.

The photo at 1:00 is a hoot -- deserving of a caption. This definitely sounds like Barry belting it out, accent or no. Good find. Thank you!

@ramamonato Coz that song is independent of the Bee Gees, not written by Gibbs :D

@honeybabe2007 You are welcome. Why don't you post the other Bee Gees song of the Tigers, namely RAIN FALLS ON THE LONELY? It is a sweet song, too. Thank you.

@ramamonato Well, The Tigers use two uvular-r sounds in "far away", the second uvular-r sound being for the "w".

This is 100% The Bee Gees. The singer is able to pronounce the correct English r-sound in "far away". The Tigers cannot pronounce the "r" in that position correctly. They replace it with an uvular-r, the r-sound commonly heard in French or German.
