Released in 1965, "Baby The Rain Must Fall" was filmed in south central Texas at Wharton, Columbus, and Lockhart (towns between Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Victoria)--during hot summer of 1964. As a very little boy then, I still remember hot, dry days and the flat agricultural land that grew cotton, rice and soybeans--a landscape much like parts of the Midwest.

Memories....I remember that song when my mom took me to all those sixties movies holding her hand as a young girl of 5 or 6 and then hearing those song soundtracks on the radio. #asixtieschild #Istilllovehearingthem

It's a very wet Tuesday morning in Houston, Texas. That Maxwell House Dark Roast Coffee and the AM1070 5:20 oldie sure hits the spot. Glenn Yarbrough was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1930 and attended St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland. He was the lead singer with The Limeliters and had a prolific solo career, recording on various labels. After serving in Korea, in 1957 he was one of the first singers to record the traditional "The House of the Rising Sun." By 1967 he had recorded a long list of successful albums including "Baby The Rain Must Fall,"(the theme tune from the film of the same name starring Lee Remick and Steve McQueen). It reached #12 pop and #2 easy listening Billboard charts in 1965. Have a good Tuesday and if you are where the rain falls, stay dry.
