UPDATE 10/22/2012: Hey A7X fans! BEFORE you hit the "like" or "dislike" buttons - if you're wondering why I don't sound like M. Shadows, it's because my name is David Lyon. I'm not trying to imitate him - I'm "covering" the song - singing it MY way, not his. And yes, I'm just as big of a fan of A7X as you are - that's why I respect them (and myself) enough not to try to imitate, but instead offer homage. Long live A7X!

Plus, for what it's worth, I think it is fairly honest and safe to say that this is certainly one of the very best vocal covers of this song currently up on YouTube. This song is kick-ass hard to do! My personal favorite part is 4:02 to the end.

Here's me singing Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold (A7X). Way fun project! I mixed this one in full stereo, so listen on earphones and turn it up. \m/ Enjoy!

Like all other AX7 album songs, they double tracked the vox in places, so I did as well in parts of my video here to make my cover faithful to the original. But this isn't a clone either - I've given the song my own personal take!

The main (large) video section is one single continuous take, and what you hear is that same exact live single-take recording. The little overlays for background vox are separate takes (of course!), because it's impossible to sing two or three different things or parts at the exact same time! But every single vocal note you hear is me, and only me. This was sung over a pure instrumental-only track.
