You are right about the twins being in the band, but I think he is just trying to describe the general effects of what a vibrato sounds like. I don't believe Sari and Romy were on the 'Feel it Break' recordings, but Katie has made it quite clear in interviews that this new release is a collaborative effort of the whole band, so I wonder if they'll have vocal presence on the tracks.

i think you may be wrong here because there are 2 backup singers in the band so like 3 voices playing at same time and the 2 backups are actually twins

To the untrained ear, Austra's voice may be perceived as a flutter. If I had a magic wand, I would slow her vibrato down... just a few ticks. It may bode well for future exposure.

I do not know where to begin. Vibrato is a pulsating change in pitch. A Synth can do that very well, but vibrato from a throat like her's... also allows for fluctuations in overtones. It is somewhat akin to a singer that can voice 2 distinct tones at once. It is a human warmth that a machine can not manufacture.
