Heard this song for the first time over the weekend. My interpretation is definitely a reflection of my situation, every word felt like it crawled under my skin. A man who's developed a relationship with a woman who he really cares about, who he knows really cares about him. But she definitely has her baggage- a marriage/long term partnership. Something she hasn't been able to let go of even though its not necessarily good/fitting for her anymore. He understands and just wants to be with her, so he tries to be understanding and patient.

Southsiders gets way too much hate! Slug doesn't need to be angry anymore. He still kicks it with angels the only difference is they're at is kitchen table now. He's grown up and fans need to accept it! The music is still dope af and Ant's production ages like wine. I'm just glad old Sean finally found his woman after the years of heartbreak : )

The thing about this video is he is separating himself. There is the kind version in which is him as Sean Daley, that's the version in which he says that she should keep. Then there is the stressful dude, which is Slug, the one always out, always on the rode, always causing problems. He is basically saying keep the good guy in and kick the other dude to the curb. Kind of why he said the line "I'm just trying to figure out which one I am," and then says later in the song, " I wonder who I'll be tonight, just ate my hand...". This song is simple. It's all about him. He's just both of them.
