So people see the bud at the end of the video and suddenly it ALL revolves around a lifestyle consisting only of drugs and the likes of... People see the half-naked girls so it MUST be something about sex... Let me try and give you another perspective. The lyrics clearly are about someone who is respectfully telling another one he is done holding his/her hands because he/she does stupid shit all the time and doesn't feel the need to grow up. Any sober mind, who at one point realises they have (a) friend(s) that only keep(s) them from growing or refuses to grow up themselves, while the original character dóes has a strong desire to grow, will probably decide to create a distance in their friendship despite occasionaly seeing him/her at (for example) a party: "Yeah I came to party, but I don't want to party with you." This also means that if the distance must be created (from the perspective of the original character) that he's in no obligation to show love, which also is literally being said in the lyrics. The main character is just tired putting energy into something that... Yeah... 's Gonna be the same anyway, in a (somewhat) 'bad' sense.To me, the men in the video feel like true friends, who've known each other for a long, long time. Positive expressions aren't as present as you might think in a long-term friendship (this differs with certain friendships obviously but nevertheless...) because you get used to each other. This seems like an ordinary hang-out day for the guys... Li'l bit of skateboarding, li'l bit of bowling, spending quality time together.To me, the girls are an important and an ABSOLUTE positive element in this video. They express the bond the guys share and represent certain feelings (it's really in the nuances). Without speaking a word everything they do is in sync or just clicks in a right way. The same wavelength if you will... Just before the guys are going to play the Nintendo the girls are showing some excitement by moving their hips, while earlier in the day they were more relaxed, hanging around. Their fingers subtly scratching the walls telling us "there's no place like home"...Lastly while smoking the bud at the end of a long day, it's no fuckin' overdose like some people are saying, man... One of the girls has a very faint smile which I find very, VERY important not to miss. Picture if you will a close friend who you don't (or do, doesn't matter) really speak regarding topics like feelings or whatever but you're full aware that you share the exàct same gratitude towards each other, towards the day in general, towards whatever. That feeling, to me, hides in that faint smile. It's saying something in the likes of "this was a good day," before falling asleep due to the effects of the weed.I just wanted to get this off my chest seeing all the doom comments regarding drugs and sexist shit... Try and look for the positive stuff peeps. There's more out there to be discovered/created in stead of staring yourselves blind at- or creating negativity. The world has too much of that already!
