The Hip headlined the Travelling Road Show in '96 I think at the University of British Columbia stadium. Imagine a mosh pit 14,000-person strong! I remember in an interview Downie said one of his favourite sounds is the cheering/screaming/sighing sound of the crowd as the water cannons hit them. But my favourite memory of this song was popping it on during a three week, six state and 6,000+ km road trip through the Western US, sitting outside a dead lake on a screaming hot, velvet blue sky day. Incomparable. Now that I live in New Zealand they still fit, especially on hot, dry summer days.

People will like what they like. A great singer named Luke Kelly once said "there are only two types of music in the world, good and bad" people will like what they like. That Bieber will last only so long, nobody will care in ten or twenty years. I'm not the biggest "hip" fan in the world by any means, but the songs I do like are great. I'm sure you'd disagree with a lot of my musical taste, but that's fine. It's an opinion. There are still amazing bands out there. Just not advertised to us.
